INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

BLOOD COLLECTION EUROTUBO® TUBES

Tubes are manufactured from clear polypropylene, resistant to impacts. The cap is made of polyethylene. lts ergonomic design allows convenient
one-handed cap removal. Reference, lot number and expiry date are printed on the tube label to provide traceability of the products. Once blood
is withdrawn, it is introduced into the corresponding blood collection tube, depending on the analysis: SERUM or PLASMA.

Tubes for SERUM:
Serum tubes are provided with clot accelerator additives to reduce clotting time and are available with either gel or granular serum separators.

Directions of use:
– Remove the cap.
– Introduce the blood sample into the tube. Some assays, such as glucose, require specific blood volumes; fill these tubes up to the fill-line printed on the label.
– Recap the tubes securely and shake the contents by gently inverting the tube 4 to 6 times.
– Set or rack the tube vertically and allow 15 minutes to assure proper clotting.
– Centrifugate the tube at 1.500 xg for 15 minutes.

Tubes for PLASMA:
Plasma tubes are provided with different additives specific for the desired analysis. The following additives are available: Lithium Heparin, lodoacetate Heparin (ideal for Glucose tests), Sodium Citrate, Dipotassium & Tripotassium EDTA and Sodium Citrate.
These tubes (except the citrate tube) include the additive in spray in order to help the mixture with blood. Citrate tubes are manufactured with liquid anticoagulant according to the standard procedures.

Directions of use:
– Remove the cap.
– Introduce the blood sample into the tube and fill it up to the fill-line printed on the label.
– Recap the tubes securely and shake the contents by gently inverting the tube 4 to 6 times.
– Whole blood may be analyzed immediately. For plasma analysis it is recommended to wait for some minutes or to spin the tube softly.
